Scale models are nowadays increasingly used in almost every industry to represent the physical appearance of architectures and constructions in miniature. Oil & Gas industry is one to be named among the fields that have rising requests for scale models for different purposes including training, consultancy, display and etc.

The miniature drilling rig model while reflecting the principal and functional requirements of the original objects can be built customizing to your specifications to be real eye-catching. The scale model can be ruplicated based on drawings or photographs, and to be constructed of light metals, hand cut and formed or as per customer’s particular request. One of the most common training in Oil & Gas industry to be named is the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET). The training is designed to equip personnel travelling to offshore installations in helicopters with abundant knowledge and skills of how to respond properly in the event of emergency during the flights. The training is furnished with HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainers) system including a helicopter simulator to imitate several severe scenarios of crash landing of the helicopter onto water. Delegates will be trained to safely escape in the situation of helicopter sunk into the water, submerged and turned upside down. To serve those training purposed, a proper functioned HUET simulator will be equipped with hydraulically controlled lift and 360 degree rotation of the simulator.

  • In addition, as per requirement of OPITO – Offshore Petroleum Industrial Training Organization, HUET simulator must meet the following criteria:
  • Must have at least 4 seats
  • Must have push-out window exits similar size to those in common offshore helicopters
  • Must be able to be lowered on to the surface of the water and then subsequently lowered below the water in an upright position
  • Structure (with the seats) must be able to rotate a minimum of 180 degree in a controlled fashion
  • Must have a means of stopping the rotation in an emergency, i.e. a brake
  • Must have the capability of being rapidly retrieved to the surface in an emergency
  • Must have realistic seating arrangement with seatbelt/harness fastenings
  • Must have a nominated exit (hinged, sliding or jettison able) with the operating mechanism similar to offshore helicopters

A decent HUET training needs a well-built HUET simulator to successfully convey its training objectives exceeding the customer’s expectation.
As the No.1 training provider in Vietnam for offshore safety & survival (OPTIO accredited), PVD Training currently operates two HUET pools with 3 HUET simulators built to the standards of OPITO and Oil & Gas Industry. Housing with a welding workshop of 1000 square meters and owning a resource of skilled workers allow PVD Training to carry out fabrication at yard.
